I didn't get the job as Assistant Branch Manager in January, which was a blessing from God. With things going the way they are for Colonial Bank (just search Google News for Colonial Bank, I hope you have a while to read), I would be under a great deal more stress than I already am, had I been promoted into management. I did accept a promotion April 20th to Regional Branch Specialist. That's a big fancy name for floating teller. I work wherever they need me in the region. I work as a teller and help with loans. I'm also supposed to help with new accounts, but I haven't been to training so I pretty much just work as a teller. I'm really nervous about what's going on with Colonial, but since there's nothing I can do about it, I do my best to ignore it.
I'm starting back to class soon. My two books cost over $200 each! Absolutely ridiculous, but once again, not much I can do. Classes start August 26th, and my classes are on Tuesday & Wednesday 6:15 pm - 9:15 pm. I'm taking Business Policy & Strategy and Collective Bargaining. Neither is going to be any fun at all.
I'm also working with others from Leatherwood Baptist Church's Singles Ministry on our Judgment Walk. It's our own version of those Judgment Houses that scare people, but we present real-life situations and the gospel, without trying to scare someone into a decision. It's our third year, and we're looking forward to God changing lives!
One more thing before I go...I DO NOT like this new health care plan being proposed by Obama and his minions. Any Alabama congressperson that votes for the plan will not have my vote at the midterm elections. I'll actually actively campaign against them. That's how I roll.
I hope this is satisfactory in bringing my blog readers (aka Allyson) up to date.
